Where our desire to avoid cleaning is overcome by the fear of public humiliation

Hey, check out the points
Do you need a little motivation to pick up the pace? Look at the points board. Yeah, that's right. 18 points so far. IT'S TUESDAY. Today I folded and put away laundry; cleaned the bathrooms; swept, swiffered, and mopped the kitchen and bathrooms; vacuumed; and straightened our room, all before lunch. Then I worked on something Barlow's birthday while eating chocolate a la Charlotte until I felt like I was throw up. Great day!

Well if I knew you could figure out the chart code, I would have had you do the points yourselves from the beginning. I do not have so many points.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I want to figure out my points too! I have 50 from the pantry, but I'll have to look at the rest when I get a minute. That is great motivation.
ReplyDeleteI have a question about one of the points. For sweep/vacuum, do you have to do both each day or just one or the other? I probably only vacuum 2x a week (sometimes only once) but sweeping is something that definately needs done daily. Anyway, just wondered.
ReplyDeleteDang it Kim! I was feeling so good about my points...!!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think the scoring should be a personal thing. For me, even though I did a load or two of dishes throughout the day, if the dishes aren't done when I go to bed I'm not going to count it. So if you have magic carpet that somehow does not need vacuumed every day, I say you don't need to do it to get a point. And let me know where you got that carpet.
Tami, I know for a fact you did your pantry. That is 20 points. Most of my points (50!) come from the pantry, I'm not superwoman. Also, we don't let food out of the kitchen, that is probably why my carpets don't require vacuuming every day. Am I the only one who doesn't vacuum every day??? Really??? I decided that if I sweep everyday I will get the point, but I only get the bonus 5 if I vacuum twice a week. I am with you on the dishes, in my mind they have to be done when I go to bed.
ReplyDeleteI don't vacuum every day but I should. I try to not let food out of the kitchen, but don't watch it closely, plus there are exceptions like popcorn for movies and stuff. Then there are my kids lunches that they didn't finish at school, so they brought their chips home and shared them with Ashton who walked all over the house with them, then there is the cereal that got all over the kitchen floor because I was not watching when the kids poured their bowls, then got tracked into the front room, up the steps and all over, then there is the....well you get the point...my floors are in CONSTANT need of vacuuming :)
